Dr. Wendy is the founder of Aurora Integrative Health.

“I created Aurora as a force of nature - which is how I feel about your health.”
The body is incredibly wise. When we listen closely and give it the right support, it knows how to come back into balance. I’m not just here to treat symptoms—I’m here to get curious, connect the dots, and figure out why things feel off. I love finding patterns, asking the right questions, and using both science and intuition to get to the root of what’s going on.

My goal is to create a space that feels grounded, compassionate, and free of judgment. Whether you're dealing with something complex or just trying to feel more like yourself again, we'll work together to build a plan that supports you. Healing doesn’t mean being perfect—it means coming home to your body in a whole new way.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a naturopathic doctor, and how are they different from a medical doctor?

Answer: Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are healthcare providers who blend modern medical knowledge with natural therapies. We take time to understand the whole person and focus on identifying and treating the root causes of illness. While medical doctors are experts in managing acute and complex conditions using medications and surgery, NDs offer a complementary approach that emphasizes nutrition, lifestyle, herbal medicine, and prevention. Together, both paths can work in harmony to support your long-term health.

2. Do naturopathic doctors have real medical training?

Answer: Yes! Licensed NDs complete a four-year, full-time medical program at an accredited naturopathic medical school, including biomedical sciences, clinical diagnostics, pharmacology, and supervised clinical rotations. In regulated provinces and states, NDs must pass licensing exams to practice safely and effectively.

4. Is naturopathic medicine just supplements and herbal remedies?

Answer: While supplements and herbal medicine are part of naturopathic treatment, our approach is much broader. We focus on nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, stress management, gut health, hormone balance, and metabolic function. The goal is to create a sustainable plan tailored to your unique needs—not just prescribe supplements.

3. Can naturopathic medicine work alongside conventional treatments?

Answer: Yes — naturopathic medicine is designed to work alongside conventional care. Many people benefit from a team-based approach, and NDs can collaborate with medical doctors, specialists, and other practitioners when appropriate. Whether it’s easing side effects from medications, supporting recovery, or helping to strengthen the effects of conventional treatments, naturopathic care can be a valuable part of a personalized health plan.

5. How long does it take to see results with naturopathic treatment?

Answer: This varies depending on the individual and the condition being treated. Some people feel better within weeks, while chronic or complex conditions may take longer to improve. Unlike quick-fix solutions, naturopathic medicine aims for lasting health improvements by addressing the underlying causes of disease.

6. Are Naturopathic Doctors covered under provincial healthcare?

Answer: Naturopathic Doctors are not covered under OHIP or other provincial healthcare plans in Canada, but many private insurance plans offer coverage for naturopathic visits and diagnostic testing. It’s best to check with your provider to see what services are included in your plan.

“To date, research in whole-system, multi-modality naturopathic medicine shows that it is effective for treating cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal pain, type 2 diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome, depression, anxiety, and a range of complex chronic conditions.”
